The Game in Short

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire Roulette is based on European Roulette and partially plays like this game. If you don’t know how roulette is played, I urge you to check out our guide on how to play roulette and win before learning about Millionaire Roulette.

So, what’s special about Who Wants to Be a Millionaire Roulette?

Before the wheel stops, up to 10 numbers will be randomly selected, known as millionaire numbers. These numbers will show one of the following icons:

  • X100 Multiplier
  • Millionaire Logo
  • Question Mark

An x100 multiplier simply means that the number’s payout will be boosted to 100x.

If a number with a millionaire logo wins, a millionaire bonus is triggered which either comes with 8 or 10 rounds. On each round of the bonus, you get to choose one of four options: A, B, C, D.

Each option either holds a multiplier value or an X. Picking a multiplier value allows you to proceed to the next round and adds that multiplier to your bet as a payout.

A max multiplier of up to x2,000 can be had by going all the way to the last round. To facilitate this, three lifelines are given along the way, such as removing two incorrect answers.

Winning with a number that has a question mark gives you two options. You can either play a less lucrative 5-round version of the millionaire bonus where max winnings are capped at 150x or 300x, or take a guaranteed win of 50x or 100x.

While no outside bets are eligible for the three features of the game, all inside bets are. To compensate for the increased payouts that these can have, a normal hit of an inside bet pays approximately 17% less than it usually does in roulette.

Fun Factor

I like this game a lot. It is clearly inspired by Lightning Roulette which Evolution Gaming released in 2018, but offers a bit more complexity and arguably a more entertaining experience. Potential payouts are higher as well.

With any inside bet being eligible for the millionaire bonus and a boosted payout, and as many as 10 numbers being selected on every round, you often get to experience the features of the game. And that’s what it’s all about.

Adding to the amusement is the game host that regularly talks with players and the design of the studio the game takes place in. It looks fabulous. Everything is of top quality. I have many live dealer games that I love and this one too is definitely one that I like to include when gambling online. I urge you to try it out.

The only thing I can think of that may be a concern to some players is the fact that a game round can take up to 5 minutes. A normal game round doesn’t take longer than a minute, but if a player goes all the way in the millionaire bonus, it will take a while. And you have to watch it all even if you were eliminated yourself.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire Roulette can pay up to 2,000 times your bet amount which is massive for a roulette game, even though there are those that can pay more (Mega Fire Blaze Roulette).

However, you need to know that only single number bets can pay this much. This is because all other inside bets will be divided by the number of positions they cover when a multiplier is applied to them. Let me clarify this by giving you an example of a street bet that covers three positions:

  • You place a street bet of ₹90.
  • The millionaire bonus is triggered.
  • A x300 multiplier is awarded in the bonus.
  • The ₹90 bet is divided by three, which results in ₹30.
  • The x300 multiplier is applied to the bet size of ₹30.
  • Your payout becomes ₹9,000 (300 * ₹30).

In terms of RTP, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire Roulette is similar to most roulette games which I’m happy to see. The game rules state that it’s 96.29% while European Roulette has 96.30% – basically no difference.

Are there strategies that can be used in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire Roulette? There are. However, I would say that none of them are useful. The game’s RTP is also the same for all bets so your long-term chances of winning money won’t be affected by the type of bet you place.

The only strategy that I would consider using in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire would be to include all numbers on a game round. This could easily be done by placing six line bets, along with a 0 bet.

The reasoning behind this strategy is that you’re guaranteed to reap the benefits of a feature that is triggered when the ball lands on a millionaire number. However, since this won’t happen all the time, this strategy could also mean that you'll lose money a lot quicker than you normally would.

As I said to begin with, there aren’t really any useful strategies to apply in this game. Play it as you see fit.
