The Game in Short

Power Up Roulette plays like normal roulette for all bets except for straight-up bets (see: how to play roulette). With straight-up bets, payouts are reduced but can be massively increased via a Power Up bonus. This is how it works:

  • On each game round, 3 – 5 numbers are selected to become Power Up numbers.
  • If the ball lands on a Power Up number, all straight-up bets qualify for a Power Up bonus spin.
  • In the bonus, payouts are randomly increased for all numbers.
  • If the new winning number is one of the Power Up numbers, payouts are handed out and then another Power Up bonus spin is initiated for a chance of winning even more.
  • Power Up spins can be re-triggered up to four times for a total of five bonus spins.
  • Every time a Power Up spin is re-triggered the payouts get bigger.

Except for straight-up bets, the payouts in Power Up Roulette are the same as in normal roulette; 2 – 18 times the amount you bet, depending on how the bet is placed.

The straight-up bets pay 25x if a Power Up bonus is not initiated, which is less than the 36x you would receive in normal roulette.

However, if you win on a straight-up bet during a Power Up bonus, the payouts are as follows:

  • 1st Power Up spin: up to 500x
  • 2nd Power Up spin: up to 1,000x
  • 3rd Power Up spin: up to 2,000x
  • 4th Power Up spin: up to 4,000x
  • 5th Power up spin: up to 8,000x

Do note that each number receives a randomly increased payout in the bonus and that there isn’t any guarantee for the maximum payout to appear. However, if you do get lucky and hit all the maximum payouts in all five bonuses, you would win 15,500x.

The RTP in Power Up Roulette is 97.30% for all bets except for straight-up bets which have an RTP of 97.19%. This is almost identical to normal roulette and is considered high.

Fun Factor

I like Power Up Roulette a lot and think it’s a fun alternative to XXXtreme Lightning Roulette which is pretty similar.

To me, the highlight of the game is the potential to win huge amounts. It is, of course not easy to do so, but it does make the experience a lot more interesting compared to traditional roulette. Every triggered Power Up spin makes you excited and if you get consecutive Power Up spins, things really heat up.

Power Up Roulette also has a pleasing design and a game host that constantly talks to players. While not the most important aspect, this adds to the experience. What’s more, game rounds are pretty fast which I love as I hate sitting around waiting for too long.

While there are many types of roulette that can be played with live dealers, Power Up Roulette is a worthy contender and will definitely be a game that I regularly include in my gambling sessions.

Strategies in Power Up Roulette revolve around volatility (risk versus reward), which could either be high or low.

To play with low risk and volatility, you would place straight-up bets on all numbers on every game round. Doing so, you would be guaranteed to benefit from every triggered Power Up bonus as you would always hit a winning number in the bonus.

The downside with this strategy is that you could lose money quickly if Power Up spins aren’t triggered. You would bet 37 units on each game round and only win 25 units on those rounds where there is no bonus.

To play with a higher risk and volatility, you could only place one or a few straight-up bets. This means that you wouldn’t lose as much money on each game round if a Power Up bonus isn’t triggered. Only one or a few units.

However, it also means that when a Power Up bonus is triggered, you would have to be really lucky to benefit from it as the ball must land on the few numbers you have bet on.

At the end of the day, both strategies have the same RTP and will earn you the same amount of money in the long run. Like any type of online gambling, my recommendation is to play the way that gives you the highest entertainment value.
