Dream Catcher By Evolution Review

The Game in Short
In Dream Catcher, you place a bet on one of six different numbers which are also represented on a big money wheel. Each of these numbers have its own payout and number of positions covered on the wheel, making the higher paying numbers less likely to hit and vice versa.
Once bets are in, the wheel is spun and whatever position it stops on is determined the winning one. In other words, if you bet on number 10 and the wheel stops on number 10, you win.
While the game is simple, it comes with two multiplier features on the wheel; x2 and x7. If one of these are hit, the multiplier will boost all payouts and the wheel will then spin again. Should a multiplier occur after another, the multipliers will multiply each other. So, two x7 in a row would result in a x49 multiplier and three x7 in a row would result in x343.

Fun Factor
When Dream Catcher was first released back in 2017, I absolutely loved the game. I still like it today, but I think itās shadowed by many other money-wheel games that are a bit more interesting. For instance, Monopoly Live, Crazy Time, Sweet Bonanza Candyland, and Adventures Beyond Wonderland. However, if you like keeping things simple and you appreciate fast game rounds, it is a fun one.
Like other live dealer games that are categorized as game shows, Dream Catcher is a social and lively game; something which I definitely appreciate. Thereās a chat that players regularly use to communicate with each other, as well as with the host of the game. This host is put there to entertain and is always extremely chatty.
A plus to me is that there are many different hosts with their own personalities, which replace each other on a regular basis. This can also be a bad thing though as not every host is as entertaining. But I guess, whenever you find one you donāt like, itās a sign to switch casino game.
Payouts
When gambling online, I always love when a game has the potential to pay out huge winnings and Dream Catcher certainly does. While the six numbers you are able bet on can earn you anything from 2 – 40 times your bet amount, the real potential in the game lies in the multipliers. This is where things can get really exciting.Ā
Hitting the multipliers donāt happen that often though and hitting them back-to-back is very rare. For instance, hitting two x7 multipliers in a row only happens once in 3000 game rounds. Therefore, you shouldnāt expect too much.
However, by just placing a bet on number 40 which pays 41 times your stake, thereās great potential. If the x7 multiplier is hit, this position would pay 280 times your bet amount. Thatās certainly good money. With that being said, I would personally never place a bet on this position. Why? Because of the low RTP of 89.88%.
Now, this is where Iām really disappointed in Dream Catcher. Overall, the RTP of the game is not impressive as the maximum one is 95.65%. However, the fact that betting on number 40 (which has the potential to pay the most) only has an RTP of 89.88% is a disgrace. This is extremely low compared to most modern casino games and in my opinion a robbery. It most definitely brings down my score of the game.
Strategies
In Dream Catcher, the RTP can vary a lot depending on how you play the game. This has given birth to a certain strategy that is commonly used. Before explaining this strategy, let me show you a table of all bet options in the game, as well as their RTP, chance to hit and payout.
| Bet Type | RTP | Chance to Hit | Payout |
|---|---|---|---|
| Number 1 | 95.24% | 44.20% | 2x |
| Number 2 | 95.31% | 28.80% | 3x |
| Number 5 | 90.42% | 13.50% | 6x |
| Number 10 | 95.65% | 7.70% | 11x |
| Number 20 | 91.80% | 3.80% | 21x |
| Number 40 | 89.88% | 1.90% | 41x |
As you can see, number 5, 20 and 40 have a significantly lower RTP than 1, 2 and 10. Therefore, the best strategy in Dream Catcher is to completely exclude these numbers. You never bet on them. Of course, winning big will not happen as often as if you include them, but in terms of chances of making a profit, excluding is actually the best move.
While you can bet as you please on number 1, 2 and 10, a popular strategy in Dream Catcher is to place your stakes the following way:
| Bet Type | Stake | Payout if Won | Chance to Hit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Number 1 | R10 | R20 | 44.20% |
| Number 2 | R6 | R18 | 28.80% |
| Number 10 | R2 | R22 | 7.70% |
This is a low volatile strategy where youāre betting a total of R18 and will hit a winning number 8 out of 10 game rounds. Hitting number 2 will earn you your money back, while number 1 and 10 comes with a slight profit. The hope with this strategy is to hit the win multipliers which would increase your profits, while keeping your balance stable.
Of course, if youād appreciate a more high volatile strategy while keeping the RTP high, you could decide to only bet on number 10. If youāre lucky, this could earn you a lot of money quickly. However, as the likelihood of hitting this number is only 7.70%, thereās a risk that youāll go on a long losing streak which will have your balance drop.
