Casino Palms Near Baga Beach in Goa: A Paradise for Budget Gamblers
Casino Palms near Baga Beach in Goa is something perhaps no other casino would ever be – a family-friendly gambling destination! It defies conventions by taking away the cacophony of a typical betting club, leaving only what’s essential for a gratifying gambling experience. A beginner’s haven, it’s neither specious nor shabby.
Note: The Casino Palms website has been taken down temporarily because it is soon to be rebranded as Casino Golden.

When I first heard about Casino Palms, I wasn’t too keen on visiting the place, to be honest. Reluctance had almost got the better of me. I’m a fan of online gambling because I get to place my bets in peace. If you are interested to try it out yourself, you should check out my recommended list of the best online casinos in India.
Even then, I had decided to give Goan land-based casinos a try because of the hype. But, compared to Deltin Royale or Big Daddy Casino which I visited earlier, this one seemed to offer next to nothing!
The famous Pride Group’s Majestic Pride has been by far my worst casino experience in Goa. With a shared DNA, Casino Palms looked like a bigger pile of pants.
I treated it with all the skepticism in the world until my visit in person. But, to my surprise, the first-hand experience was rather satisfactory.
Just when you thought its gaming floor would have everything conventional and nothing grand and be crowded with croupiers, the casino begs to differ.
Its focus is on slot machines and electronic tables more than anything else. Does it mean the operator cuts corners? Nay. It is small-scale and affordable, yet worth every penny.
For punters who have ever wished for a land-based casino going minimal, it can easily become a stamping ground. Located onshore inside the famous beachfront hotel – La Calypso, Casino Palms does it fair and square.
Trust me when I say novices and low rollers are going to fall in love with this one. Now, let’s talk about it.
Can’t visit Majestic Pride casino? Don’t worry! The answer is online casinos! Here are my top 3 favorites!
This casino was off my radar for quite some time because I was more interested in visiting the offshore gambling destinations in Goa.
I spotted it on my trip to Baga and instantly decided it’s not worth visiting. A dilapidated old building with paint peeling off wasn’t the best home for a gambling destination in my opinion.
But wise men say you should never judge a book by its cover. Indeed, the inside of Casino Palms tells a different story altogether and lives up to Hotel La Calypso’s mission statement – ‘Eat, Drink and be Merry.’
I was glad I didn’t jump to conclusions, but allowed my instincts to guide me instead. Despite all the hesitation, I hopped onto my rented scooty (yes, those are extremely popular in Goa) and rode straight to the hotel. Casino Palms is a 40 minutes ride from my hotel in Panjim.
Casino Palms Review – Get More for Less
Unlike offshore casinos, Casino Palms in North Goa is located on the mainland. It is easy to reach via road and even have a parking facility, which is a major advantage.
If you have your own vehicle, you can simply drive to this party destination. On the flipside, you are not getting any pick-up or drop-in service from the operators.
This is perhaps the smallest casino in Goa. The entire setup has been jampacked into a small room with about 10 electronic tables and slot machines. Poshness wouldn’t be the right word to describe it. Yet, it has its own charm.
Its chequered flooring is a sweet reminder of Goa’s tryst with Portuguese architecture. Warm lights shine beautifully on the wooden furniture in this party house offering a cozy ambiance.
A small kid’s room has been provided for those travelling with kids and a smoking room for those who like to take a drag. Additionally, there is provision for Ayurvedic massage, spa, and a swimming pool, too.
Casino Palms is for budget gamblers from all walks of life. ₹700 is the entry fee (₹1000 if you’re visiting on a weekend)! Cheap could be an offensive term so I’d stick to describing this package as ‘affordable.’
You’d receive 2 complimentary drinks (alcoholic or non-alcoholic), some snacks and a coupon for buffet lunch or dinner. No extra chips. No bonuses.
Given the cost, I believe this is a steal deal. However, if you’re hoping to enjoy unlimited drinks and food, I’d recommend you to visit any of the offshore casinos in Goa to avoid getting disappointed.
It is worth remembering that at the entrance, you will be handed out a paper wrist band which is valid for 24 hours. Wear it and enter or leave the casino as many times as you want within that window. No one will stop you.
Word of caution: Do not go there with a Nearbuy deal. The casino doesn’t honor them no matter what you are promised.
Casino Palms is operating 24/7 and 365 days a year. Whenever you visit, you would receive the same package with a validity of 24 hours. You would be able to access all the games anytime during this period. However, the restaurant closes at 2 AM on all days.
Minimum Age for Entry
The minimum age for entry into Casino Palms is 21 years. Visitors below this age limit would not be able to access the games or any of the alcoholic drinks.
ID verification is required for entry. But for some strange reason, Casino Palms does not accept PAN card as proof of photo identification from Indians. Nevertheless, ADHAAR, Voter ID and Passport are acceptable.
There’s no dress code, whatsoever. You can simply walk in wearing a tee and shorts – a privilege I’ve been dying to get in a casino in Goa! I mean, who the hell cares what you are wearing when all you need to do is gamble and win.
Acceptable Payment Modes
Casino Palms doesn’t accept online payment until you show your PAN card. All transactions must happen in cash, which could be highly inconvenient for foreign visitors. I suggest you carry enough cash in Indian Rupees to avoid troubles.

Casino Palms offers electronic versions of the following games:
Food is one of its strongest suits. Casino Palms has an in-house multi-cuisine restaurant – La Café that serves scrumptious food and mouth-watering desserts that are sure to please your taste buds. You will be offered two complimentary drinks from a well-stocked pub that homes the finest tropical beverages.
Both veg and non-veg options are available. Rice and chicken, salads and sweet dishes – you get to choose from an array of dishes prepared with love. Complimentary cigarettes await smokers.
Daily Lottery Draw
Every day at 2 AM, Casino Palms organizes a lottery draw where a lucky winner receives one-time play cards. However, the person must come forth within an hour of declaring the results.
There are no other perks offered by the casino, which is only fair. The entry being extremely cheap, one shouldn’t expect more. I was lucky to get a t-shirt as a complimentary gift. That was a sweet gesture, indeed.
Casino Palms gets full points for its convenient location and food. The game range is decent and the entry fee is reasonably priced. Unlike other Goan casinos, it doesn’t have strict dress codes.
The casino is good for newbies who want to test the waters and have a date with luck. It’s great for low rollers who don’t want to risk a lot of money. Most of all, it’s fantastic for punters who intend to receive more for less.
Overall, if you are on a shoestring budget, but don’t want to leave Goa without gambling a bit, this is the place for you. Keep your expectations low and you’ll surely leave a happy gambler.
