Lottery in Punjab was initiated in 1968 after the establishment of the Directorate of Punjab State Lotteries as a wing of the Finance Department of the Punjab Government in the capital city of Chandigarh.

The Department’s objective is three-fold

The Director of Punjab Lotteries, who is appointed under the Principal Secretary, is responsible for supervising the rest of the staff.

Punjab Lottery Ticket

Every Punjab Lottery ticket is printed by order of the Office of Directorate of Punjab State Lotteries. The number of tickets required to be printed is decided beforehand as per the distributor’s preferences and market conditions.

All tickets are printed at the Security Printing Press on the panel of the Reserve Bank of India or the Indian Bank Associations Mumbai. All other banners and posters meant for the promotion of tickets and Punjab lottery schemes can be printed at any private press via approved tenders.

Prior to printing, the State’s Lottery Department must announce the total number of tickets, their gross value, cost per ticket, prize structure, total prize money, and periodicity of the draw. Each ticket must bear the name of the lottery scheme, the draw date, venue, and prizes.

No tickets to the Punjab Lottery must be sold online – directly or indirectly. It means, an online seller cannot buy tickets on behalf of players and send them a scanned copy as proof of purchase. Also, accepting payment online to send tickets via courier is strongly discouraged.

How to Claim Your Punjab State Lottery Prize?

There are two ways to claim your Punjab State Lottery prize depending on the amount you win.
