Originating from India, Andar Bahar is a simple guessing game played against a dealer. A random playing card (often referred to as a joker) is dealt in the middle of a table. As the dealer starts adding cards to two different sides, the goal is to guess which side will match the joker card first. It’s as simple as that.
But let’s have a closer look at how Andar Bahar is played, its payouts, odds and the different types of Andar Bahar games that can be played online.
This is how Andar Bahar is played in 5 easy steps:
From a deck of 52 unseen cards, a dealer turns up a random card and places it face up in the middle of the table. This is often known as a joker.
Players get to place a bet on one of two sides known as Andar and Bahar.
Cards are continuously dealt face-up on the Andar and Bahar sides; one at a time, always starting with the Andar side of the table.
As soon as one of the dealt cards are matching the first middle card that was turned up, a winner is decided. Simply the side that got this matching card first.
Payouts are handed out. If you bet on the Andar side and this is the side that won, you get paid. If not, better luck next time!
Payouts, RTP and Odds
Andar Bahar is usually played with the following two payouts:
1.9 times your stake
2 times your stake
1:1 is the same thing as 2 times your stake
In some versions of Andar Bahar, the payout for Andar is also 1:1. This is compensated by only paying 0.25:1 (1.25 times your stake) whenever the Andar side wins on its first dealt card.
The odds of winning on either the Andar or Bahar side look like this:
The reason why the Andar side is favorable to win is that the first card is always dealt to this side. This is also why the payout for the Andar side is slightly lower than the Bahar side.
The RTPRTP stands for "Return to Player" and is a percentual value that all casino games have. It shows you how much you are expected to win in the long run. A game with a 96% RTP is for instance expected to return ₹96 for every ₹100 staked. in Andar Bahar looks like this:
Return to Player
The RTP is based on how much you can win multiplied by the odds of winning it. Even though Andar pays less than Bahar, it’s the most profitable bet to place. In the long run, you are expected to win 0.85% more from placing it.
Playing Andar Bahar online, you are able to find four types of side bets that can be placed. These are bets that aren’t part of the original rules of Andar Bahar, but have been added to make the game more interesting. The four side bets include the following:
If the first 3 cards that are dealt will make a flush, straight or straight flush One bet covers all of the three outcomes, while each outcome pays differently
Number of cards that will be dealt before a winning side is determined You can bet on 1 – 5, 6 – 10, 11 – 15, 16 – 25, 26 – 30, 31 – 35, 36 – 40, 41 – 49
What the initial middle card (the joker) will show You can bet on its color, suit and value higher or lower than 8
If Andar wins on the first card or if Bahar wins on the first card
Some side bets come with much higher payouts than what the original Andar Bahar game allows for. Up to 120 times the stake can be won in Playtech’s version, while Evolution Gaming’s can pay a massive 4,000 times your stake thanks to random multipliers.
Andar Bahar Versions to Play Online
There are several game developers that provide Andar Bahar which is played with real dealers over the internet. To be exact, there are six game variations that are commonly found at online casinos:
While the rules of Andar Bahar is the same between these providers, the experience is not. Playtech offers three types of side bets and a top-quality interface to play on. A similar experience can be had with Betgames.TV, though only two types of side bets are to be found.
Evolution Gaming has only one type of side bet (number of cards dealt before a win happens), but the platform stands out for its random multipliers that can be added to these. The quality of the interface is also top-notch.
Ezugi’s interface is pretty neat, but on this platform, there is only one side bet available with no special features. Lastly, Super Spade Games have a pretty poor user interface and no side bets at all.
Andar Bahar is a commonly offered casino game and many of the best gambling sites have several different versions of it provided by several game developers. Based on thorough casino reviews and our knowledge of the industry, some of the top sites include the ones listed above.
