How to Play the Goa Lottery?

If you want to play the Goa lottery, you must buy physical paper tickets from authorized vendors available across the State. The prices range from ₹6 to ₹50 depending on the draw in which you want to participate.

Each ticket will come with a combination of either 4 or 5 numbers, which you must match to the winning numbers to get rewarded. If you manage to match all the numbers in the exact order, you would win the first prize.

However, the Lottery Department of Goa also arranges for prizes of lower tiers where you would get rewarded even if you match lesser than the total numbers in the same or a different order.

It’s important to note that each draw taking place in any Goan state lottery includes several draws. The first draw will determine the winner of the first prize, while the second draw will determine the winners of the second prize and so on.

What Are the Prizes?

The prizes for Goa Government Lotteries come in all sizes. You could win an amount as high as a whopping ₹20 lakhs or even as low as ₹50. Luck is the only key.

How to Check the Goa Lottery Result?

To check the Goa Lottery result of the draw in which you participated, visit the official website of the Directorate of Small Savings and Lotteries Goa or the Goa State Lotteries website run by the State Government.

There is another easy way of checking results. Simply Google ‘Goa State lottery result today’ and a number of sites would show up serving the result sheets. You can also filter your search using specific terms.

For instance, if you want to check the results of the three Rajshree draws, simply Google ‘Goa Rajshree Lottery result today.’ Similarly, if you want to check all the draw results of a particular slot of time, use terms such as ‘Goa State lottery result today 4 PM’ or similar.

How to Claim the Prize?

Winners of the Goa State Government lottery must claim the prize within 30 days from the draw.

The procedure of claiming depends on the amount won. Prizes of up to ₹10,000 are non-taxable and paid directly by the ticket vendor. However, if the amount exceeds ₹10,000, the winner needs to visit the office of the Director of State Lotteries Goa in person and provide a duly filled claim form.

Alternatively, the person can also claim the prize via registered post by submitting the claim form (available on the official website) along with a copy of the winning ticket. Please keep in mind that winnings above ₹10,000 will attract income tax as per the Income Tax Act.

To claim the prize, every winner must also furnish correct and valid documents, including the original ticket (undamaged), a duly signed proof of identity, and a proof of address. Additionally, four passport-sized photographs attested by a Notary or 1st Class Magistrate and a copy of the winner’s PAN card would be required.

Is the Lottery Safe?

All printed tickets of the Goa State Lottery carry the official logo and imprint of the State with specimen signature, date of draw, time of draw, and cost of the ticket. To maintain uniformity, all the tickets are printed in the same size: 12cms x 6cms.

The draw is organized in Panjim inside the Government Building under the supervision of State-appointed officials. Tickets are drawn using a draw machine, which complies with the criteria stated in the Lotteries (Regulation) Rules 2010, The Goa Lotteries (Regulation) Rules 2003, the Goa Computerized Network Lottery Rules 2003, and all the amendments made to them.

All the information about unsold tickets is printed on the official website 5 minutes before every draw to rule out confusion about the winning number and the claimant of the prize.

No rigging is possible and the numbers picked during the draw are absolutely random. Therefore, it is safe to conclude the Goa State lottery draw is legal, fair, and safe.
