The Game in Short

Red Door Roulette plays very similarly to traditional roulette (check this guide to learn to play roulette). You will find the same type of bets and except for the straight up bet that is different, the bets pay just the same as in the classic game.

What makes Red Door Roulette unique is that 3 – 15 numbers are randomly selected on every game round to become bonus numbers. If you have placed a bet on one of these numbers and it is selected as the winning one, a money wheel bonus will trigger as opposed to giving you a payout right away.

In this bonus, a huge wheel will be spun where initial prizes ranging from 20x – 200x your bet size can be won. However, the wheel can also stop on a ‘double up’ position. When this happens, all prizes are doubled and then the wheel is spun again.

In addition to the double-up feature, the prizes on the wheel can also be boosted in the roulette part of the game when roulette numbers are selected to become bonus numbers. When this happens, each number may randomly receive a multiplier of x2 all the way up to x20. This means that if such a number is selected as a winning one, all the prizes in the bonus will immediately be boosted by this coefficient.

The paytable in Red Door Roulette is as follows:

Type of BetPayout
Straight Up19:1 – 3999:1
Red / Black1:1
Even / Odd1:1
Low / High1:1

In Red Door Roulette, only the straight up bet is different from the traditional, European version of roulette. In this classic game, you would get paid 35:1 as opposed to a range of 19:1 – 3999:1.

For a straight up bet, 20 times the amount you bet is the least you could win in Red Door Roulette, which could be won in one of the two following ways:

  • Winning a straight up bet that hasn’t become a bonus number (thus not triggering the bonus).
  • Winning a straight up bet that triggers the bonus and the bonus wheel rewards its minimum of 20x.

Even though the money wheel bonus in Red Door Roulette has a double-up position that could theoretically double up prizes in infinity, the game comes with a maximum win cap of 4,000x. This is the most you can win from a straight up bet on any game round.

In addition, the game also has a win cap of ₹5 crore. This would only affect players betting ₹12,500 or more. For instance, if a ₹20,000 bet is placed and you win 4,000x, the game would pay you ₹5 crore instead of ₹8 crore.

RTP (Payout Percentage)

The RTP in Red Door Roulette is 97.09% for the straight up bet and 97.30% for all other bets. This is considered high among casino games.

Compared to classic European roulette where the straight up bet also has a 97.30% RTP, it is slightly lower in Red Door Roulette. However, the difference is marginal.

Fun Factor

Coming from someone who enjoys roulette and also loves Crazy Time, Red Door Roulette instantly got my attention. I think it’s a delightful addition to the many roulette games that are already available at gambling sites. It’s easy to get into, looks absolutely fabulous, and offers a good amount of excitement with its money wheel bonus that can provide substantial payouts.

Now, it’s definitely not a game I would spend hours and hours on at a time, but it is indeed a nice one to visit every now and then to get a change of pace. Something that I really appreciate is how often the money wheel bonus is triggered. As can be seen in the below image, you never have to wait many game rounds to experience it.

However, you do of course have to have placed a bet on the winning number in order to get paid from the bonus. That’s why I personally like to cover half of all the numbers when I play Red Door Roulette.

All in all, I give this game a 4 out of 5 for its entertainment value.

Roulette in general is known for its many strategies such as Martingale, Paroli, and D’Alembert. While all of these can be used on the even money bets in Red Door Roulette (the bets that pay 1:1), this game is all about the money wheel bonus and betting on single numbers.

Therefore, the strategy in Red Door Roulette comes down to the number of single numbers you would want to cover in each game round. With more numbers covered, your bankroll will have less up and down swings. This is a more reliable way to play, while fewer numbers covered is a riskier strategy, even though it may be easier to profit from if you are lucky.

Let’s take two examples.

Betting on All Numbers

If you bet on all numbers, you will always win on every game round and you will always enter the money wheel bonus when this is triggered. This is great.

However, since you are betting 37 units (one unit for each number), the downside with this strategy is that any time the bonus isn’t triggered, you will only win 20 units and thus be at a loss of 17. Plus, even if you enter the bonus round you may end up only winning 20 units in total.

On the other hand, whenever that once-in-a-blue-moon bonus happens where it is initiated with a 20x multiplier or the wheel lands on multiple double up positions in a row, you will always win the huge prize that it comes with. That’s the strength of this strategy.

Betting on Five Numbers

In comparison to the above, limiting your betting numbers to five would only cost you 5 units per game round, and every time you win you would win a minimum of 20, thus making a 15-unit profit.

While such a profit is nice, the downside of the strategy is that you might have to wait many game rounds to hit a winning number. It will also be very difficult to enter the bonus game as not only do you have to hit one of your five numbers, but one of these must also have been selected for the bonus.

This means that you will have to watch many bonuses take place where you are not in it to win anything. This is especially harsh if a bonus turns out to be a super lucrative one that pays 1,000x or even more.

So, Which Strategy Do You Choose?

At the end of the day, it all comes down to understanding what the pros and cons are for betting on more or fewer numbers. I personally tend to cover half of all numbers when I play Red Door Roulette to experience the bonus wheel more often. But there is no right or wrong.
